The New York City Bar Legal Referral Service
A 150+ page WordPress site providing in-depth legal information and a questionnaire for obtaining legal assistance.
The New York City Bar had a long-running service that the public could use to find a qualified lawyer to help them with their legal needs. They wanted to improve their online presence and do a better job of connecting with the public online.
Harmonic Northwest did the development work on a couple iterations of the site. The centerpiece of both was a multi-step intake form that took note of the help-seeking party’s contact info and their particular issue. The site also housed dozens of articles about legal issues ranging from Bankruptcy to Worker’s Compensation. We also employed third-party translation plugins to make the pages of the site accessible to Spanish speakers.
The organization has processed lots of requests through their Request a Lawyer form and the site has been a huge boon to the organization and to the residents of New York City.
The site was built on responsive design and does great in terms of search engine optimization. It uses Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics as well.
